More than 100 residents from Brgy. Villa Ibaba, Villa Ilaya, and Caridad Ilaya in Atimonan utilized the free medical and dental services provided by Atimonan One Energy, Inc. (A1E) through its Bantay Kalusugan program.

The activity, which was held last May 20 at the Villa Ibaba Elementary School, is part of A1E’s corporate social responsibility program on health that aims to provide free health services and medicines to the indigent residents of Brgy. Villa Ibaba and its adjacent barangays.

The activity was made possible in partnership with the Atimonan Rural Health Unit, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power System, Ltd. (MHPS), Dinamico Construction, Inc., Delta Earthmoving, Inc., Betonbau Phils, Inc. and Alpha Phi Omega Atimonan Circle Alumni Association (APO ACAA).

“It is an honor to be invited and be part of this kind of activity,” said Agnel Garcia, APO ACAA President. “One of our advocacies is to give back to the community and this is one way to do it.”

The residents were able to get free medical and dental checkup, several over-the-counter medicines, and tooth extraction services.

Meanwhile, the barangay officials were grateful to the different organizations for their continuous assistance to the residents.

“Our kabarangays do not have enough resources for services like this and would rather allocate it for food and other necessities” said Brgy. Villa Ibaba Chairman Rogelio Balinsayo. “Residents don’t really have money to buy medicine, or if they have, they will spend it on something else rather than going to the hospital for medical check-up,” he said.

A1E through its Bantay Kalusugan has been providing Brgy. Villa Ibaba and Villa Ilaya with medical, dental and other health services since 2014. It is a semi-annual project of the company which aims to address the need for proper health care and better health outcome of the community.
