Atimonan One Energy, Inc. (A1E) has bagged its first recognition from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) during the 54th Anvil Awards held at the Marriott Hotel last January 30.
A1E won a silver award for its community newsletter, Isang Tinig, which addresses “the limited communication platforms in the town of Atimonan.” The quarterly newsletter showcases project updates, corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs of A1E, and other community-related activities in Atimonan, Quezon – which is the host community of A1E’s proposed power plant.
Through the annual Anvil Awards, the PRSP recognizes outstanding public relations (PR) programs and tools implemented by the different companies across the country. The Anvil Awards has been dubbed as the “Oscars” of the Philippine PR industry. A1E is among one of the 181 winners out of the 427 entries sent in the annually held PR awards.
A1E is the developer of a 2×600 megawatt (MW) high efficiency, low emission (HELE) coal-fired power plant in the town of Atimonan in Quezon province. The companyis a subsidiary of MERALCO PowerGen Corporation (MGen), the power generation arm of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco).
