Rhey Alvin Pinon, Safety Officer of Dinamico Construction, Inc., talks about the importance of flagmen in construction sites in a training held at Brgy. Caridad Ibaba last June 18.

Pinon with Jonas Beatriz, a trainee from Brgy. Balugohin, demonstrate the flag signals used in construction sites.

Atimonan One Energy, Inc. (A1E) in partnership with Dinamico Construction, Inc. (Dinamico) conducted another flagman training last June 18 at the barangay hall of Caridad Ibaba in Atimonan.

The training was participated by 20 residents from barangays Villa Ibaba, Caridad Ilaya, Caridad Ibaba, Balugohin, and Lumutan.

This followed a similar training attended by 20 residents from barangays Villa Ibaba and Villa Ilaya last February 22. The earlier activity also covered training for firewatchers and safety watchmen.

Rhey Alvin Pinon, Safety Officer of Dinamico, explained to the trainees the duties, responsibilities, and possible hazards of being a flagman.

“A flagman’s job is not easy. As a flagger, it is your responsibility to become the eyes of the heavy equipment operators and to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient flow of vehicles within the construction sites,” said Pinon.

Participants were given certificates after the training and will be given priority for flagman positions that will be opened by Dinamico and other contractors of A1E particularly Betonbau Phil., Inc. and Delta Earthmoving Inc.

The training is under Angat Kabuhayan, A1E’s livelihood and enterprise development program, which aims to provide capacity building trainings to create more job opportunities and uplift the lives of the residents of Atimonan.
