More than 50 residents from Barangays Balugohin and Sokol in the town of Atimonan attended an information, education, and communication (IEC) activity conducted by Atimonan One Energy, Inc. (A1E) last July 2.

Separate sessions were done in the said barangays, bringing the total number of IEC activities conducted by the company to seven for this year.

Malayang Talakayan, Angat Kaalaman is A1E’s IEC campaign that aims to communicate updates about the project and the company’s programs for the community.

The campaign is done in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Dalaw-Turo Team and Atimonan Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).

In every session, the DENR Dalaw-Turo Team and Atimonan MENRO discuss the different projects the agency and the municipality are doing to increase environmental stewardship and awareness among Atimonanins. Afterwards, A1E talks about the status of its project as well as the project’s benefits to the community.

A1E is the developer of a 2×600 megawatt (MW) high efficiency, low emission (HELE) coal-fired power plant in Atimonan.
