Atimonan One Energy, Inc. (A1E) has joined several organizations – including parent company Meralco PowerGen Corporation — in starting zero-waste lifestyle by adopting a ban on single-use plastics.

In its Halloween trick-or-treat for kids last October 29, the company gave away buckets of candies placed in a small Kraft paper bag to promote an environment friendly practice. A1E employees also decorated their office using recyclable materials.

Close to 200 children dressed up in their Halloween costumes and went around offices in the municipality of Atimonan.  Best-dressed participants took home cash prizes and loot bags packed from the local government.

A1E has been implementing the ban on single-use plastics in all its community activities. For instance, the company already stopped using plastic cups, straws and bottles during trainings and instead requests participants to bring their own reusable containers and eating utensils.   A1E is the developer of 2x600MW coal power station that will utilize an advanced power plant technology to fill the baseload requirement of the country’s developing economy and industrialization at least cost electricity for consumers.
